The school’s KS1 and KS2 Sports Days have been widely praised as a resounding success, highlighting pupils’ enthusiasm, determination and sense of community across both events.
This year’s KS2 Sports Day marked an important milestone, as it was hosted off campus for the first time. The new setting provided an enhanced experience for pupils, with Mr. Jake Ellis, Head of PE at NAISAK noting that it offered “an exciting, inclusive and memorable experience in a fantastic setting.” While the event presented some logistical learning points, it was ultimately seen as a positive step forward for the school.
Pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 demonstrated outstanding effort and commitment in every activity. From track races to team challenges, children showed determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship. According to Mr. Ellis, “the children were outstanding throughout… representing our school values with pride.”
The supportive atmosphere was a defining feature of both days. Pupils could be heard cheering each other on from the sidelines, celebrating successes and encouraging perseverance. One staff member commented that “the level of encouragement from the children was incredible — they really lifted each other up in every event.”
A pupil also shared their excitement, saying, “Sports Day was really fun because everyone was cheering, and it didn’t matter who won — we just tried our best.” Another student added, “I liked working as a team and supporting my friends. It made me feel proud.”
The events also included friendly staff competitions, adding a light-hearted and engaging element. The Year 2 staff team secured a clean sweep in their contest, while the Year 5 and 6 teams delivered strong performances in different areas, resulting in a draw. The planned Year 3 and 4 staff competition was postponed due to weather conditions to prioritise pupil safety.
All house teams demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment throughout the competition. House Ventus emerged as the KS2 champions, earning praise for their consistent effort and teamwork as they lifted the overall trophy. A member of staff noted, “the house spirit this year was fantastic — every team gave their all and supported each other brilliantly.”
The success of the events was also attributed to the dedication of staff, particularly the PE team, whose organisation and leadership ensured the smooth running of both days. One colleague remarked, “it was a real team effort behind the scenes, and the students benefited from every moment of preparation.”
The KS1 and KS2 Sports Days remain a key highlight of the school calendar, promoting physical activity, teamwork and wellbeing. More importantly, they continue to reflect the strength of the school community and its commitment to providing meaningful, inclusive experiences for all pupils.
