OUR SECONDARY CURRICULUM

At NAS Abu Dhabi, our secondary students follow the English National Curriculum.

Our creative and challenging programmes combine the highest standards of subject teaching with exhilarating learning opportunities and wellbeing support. This ensures our students develop the knowledge and attributes they need to excel academically and grow as individuals.

Our Key Stage 3 curriculum helps our students transition from primary to secondary school. At this vital stage in their education, specialist subjects embed a deeper knowledge and understanding, preparing them for their IGCSEs.

Our students follow a tailored version of the English National Curriculum, which includes English, maths, science, history, geography, and more. Your child will get a flavour of what it would be like to study each subject at IGCSE level, helping them make their choices during Year 9.

Students who are making exceptional progress have the option of starting their IGCSEs in Year 9.

Our two-year IGCSE programme, offered by the Cambridge Examination Board, is academically rigorous and recognised across the world. The subjects we offer feature specific international elements and content, developed by specialists to make learning relevant to learners worldwide.

We’ll welcome our first IGCSE students in September 2024.

Your child will follow a personalised curriculum based on their academic strengths and interests, as well as their ambitions for the future. Each IGCSE course is engaging and stimulating, and teaching is designed to support our students’ holistic development.

STUDENT WELLBEING

STARTING THE DAY WITH #METIME

Every school day starts with #METime (morning enrichment), which is centred around your child’s growth and wellbeing. Between 7:30 and 8:15 am, before lessons begin, students have the option to either take part in activities that energise and excite them for the day ahead, have a nutritious breakfast with friends, or stay at home and sleep a little bit longer.
