FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

  • Can my child start at any time?

    Yes, we welcome new students all year round; your child can join us at any point in the academic year.

    We are currently taking applications for the following year groups.

    - Foundation Stage 1 through to Year 8 (ages 3 to 13) for the 2023/24 academic year.

    - Foundation Stage 1 through to Year 9 (ages 3 to 14) for the 2024/25 academic year.

    Applications for Year 10 to Year 13 (ages 14 to 18) will open in the near future.

  • Will my child need to sit an entrance exam?
    NAS Abu Dhabi is a non-selective school, which means that your child will not need to pass an exam to join us. However, given the highly personalised structure of our teaching approach, we ask every child to sit an age-appropriate assessment to help us understand individual learning needs and preferences.
  • Do you offer students additional support?
    We offer English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for students who need extra help with their speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. In our English-speaking environment, our children learn incredibly quickly.
  • What's included in your tuition fees?
    Your child’s fees will include their tuition, school materials, most of our extra-curricular activities, and any local compliance exams. The cost of external secondary exams is charged separately.
  • What curriculum do you teach?

    At NAS Abu Dhabi, we teach the English National Curriculum from nursery through to sixth form.

    • Early Years (ages 4-5): Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • Primary (ages 5-11): English National Curriculum.
    • Key Stage 3 (ages 11-14): English National Curriculum.
    • Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16): IGCSEs.
    • Sixth Form (ages 16-18): A-levels.

     

  • Where are your teachers from? And are they qualified by British standards?

    We have exceptionally high teaching standards at NAS Abu Dhabi. We scour the globe to recruit extraordinary educators who have extensive experience in top-performing British and international schools. Our teachers are all UK-qualified (or equivalent) and have a wealth of experience delivering the English National Curriculum.

    Our Arabic teaching staff are ADEK accredited to teach Arabic, Islamic and social studies.

  • What time does the school day start and end?

    At NAS Abu Dhabi, our school days are shaped in a way that ensures our students thrive.

    We welcome students on to campus from 7.30am, to enjoy exciting enrichment activities and a nutritious and delicious breakfast with their friends.

    The core school day starts at 8.30am, and finishes and 3.30pm. After the school bell rings, our students can join fun and rewarding enrichment activities from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, and exclusive Global Campus classes, competitions and digital adventures from 4.30pm to 5.00pm.

    On Fridays, the school day finishes at 12.00pm in compliance with local regulations.

  • What extra-curricular activities do you offer?
    Our enrichment programme offers something for everyone, ensuring your child will have the chance to do what they love, as well as find new passions. Clubs range from sports and the creative arts, to languages and coding. Our exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF unlock a world of opportunities, too.
  • Do you provide lunch?
    Yes, our catering partner, ADNH Compass, prepares fresh, tasty, and nutritious lunches every day. We offer a variety of hot and cold options, and can cater for a range of dietary requirements and allergies.
  • Do you offer a bus service?
    Yes. A safe and reliable bus service take care of our students as they travel before and after school, from different locations around the city. If you'd like to learn more or secure a seat for your child, please get in touch with our admissions team.
