Nord Anglia Education is working with Xirrus to launch an online application for dynamic learning experiences (Bring-Your-Own-Device Scheme) for students and teachers.

Xirrus, the leader in high-performance wireless networks has deployed Xirrus Wireless Arrays to deliver high capacity, Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) connectivity across the Nord Anglia Education family of schools. The deployment enables teachers to deliver more dynamic lessons using online learning resources as well as satisfying the growing demand for wireless connectivity. The unique architecture of the Xirrus solution provides four times the coverage and up to eight times the bandwidth and capacity of traditional access points.

The reliability and performance of Xirrus Wireless Arrays has allowed Nord Anglia Education to launch mobile applications to benefit students and teachers. The virtual learning platform, Moodle, enables teachers to post interactive video and picture content online, as well as providing a central repository where homework can be uploaded. Nord Anglia Education is also launching a wireless Student Management System application in 2013 which automatically provides teachers and staff with student information including attendance records and contact information on their mobile device.

As a leader in the international provision of high quality, innovative education, training and guidance, Nord Anglia Education is committed to providing cutting edge learning resources. Regional IT Director for Europe, Bartlomiej Cezak said: “The investment in the Xirrus solution is a direct response to the number of our students and staff that use their own laptops, tablets and smartphones whilst at school to access the growing volume of online educational tools. It is also becoming common practice for teachers to stream or download content in the classroom, leading to an increased demand for Wi-Fi coverage. We are ensuring that they have the tools to create high performance learning.”

Nord Anglia Education has currently installed Xirrus Wireless Arrays across its European schools, along with a Xirrus Management System and will roll out the system across its Asian schools during 2013.
