Today we’re proud to announce the grand opening of NAS Beijing Shunyi, a bilingual boarding school in China teaching students aged 6 to 18 years the best of both eastern and western education. The school will have capacity to educate 1,440 students, with a total of 484 boarding places, and will be led by Co-Principals Helena Xin and Julie Terry.
NAS Beijing Shunyi features truly world-class facilities, which have already made a big impression on the school’s founding families. These learning environments include an indoor swimming pool, 400-meter outdoor sports field, a massive theatre, STEAM facilities, a learning resource centre, and more. The school also provides boarding services for students in Grade 4 and above. Today, the teachers were delighted to see these spaces filled with eager students!

NAS Beijing Shunyi’s international teachers — hired from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa — all have experience teaching non-native English students, with an average teaching experience of 10 years. The school’s national teachers from China are all bilingual and fluent in using English while teaching. Most of the Chinese teachers have a master's degree or above and have experience teaching international students.

NAS Beijing Shunyi’s curriculum is based on the Chinese national nine-year compulsory education curriculum and enriched with international approaches and modern teaching methods. The school makes use of unique international resources to provide a consistent and quality 12-year bilingual education for students aged 6-18.
