Grade Level Leader Grade 12; Physics and Mathematics DP teacher
Andrew Luke

Having been teaching Physics for over forty years, I have developed a deep love of the subject matter and the fact that it helps us explore from the subatomic to the galactic. I enjoy pulling the students into this vast scope of opportunities for discovery. When I moved to Northbridge in 2019 I started teaching Mathematics in the new syllabus, and have been able to continue to pursue my love of the subject up to Higher Level, and try to convey the beauty of the subject to my students. Many people find these two subjects challenging, and it is my job to make them accessible to those in front of me. I have through my life been fully involved in many sports, having been Captain of Swimming at school and also playing club rugby at 1st XV level and club football at 1st XI level. In my spare time I enjoy playing pool also, and reading, of course, but my real love is doing cryptic crosswords and occasionally attending quizzes. I am from the UK but have taught in Australia for a year, and came to Northbridge having taught in Saigon for the previous eight years. I am pleased to say that I still love coming to school every single day and working with the young adults who are making their way in life.

Qualifications: Bachelor and Master of Arts (Engineering Science, University of Oxford); Post Graduate Certificate in Education (University of Exeter).
