On Thursday the Year 11 Drama class performed their practical piece worth 40% of their GCSE to an audience of fellow year 11's and staff. The students had to prepare a production entitled "Look How Far We Have Come" under the brief that it could be performed as part of a festival of local history. This Brief is set by the exam board and the students have only a certain number of hours to devise, and perform their Drama.
The students decided on a plot looking at the History of Arabia and England and used their drama techniques to direct a successful production. The students had to plan, research, create, direct, and manage the performance including costumes, lighting and sound. This task was full of High Performance Learning and the learning habits we are using in school were clearly evident in helping the students to be successful.
The group worked extremely well together and must now evaluate their performance to complete the practical part of their GCSE.
WELL DONE YEAR 11 DRAMA!
