We are a warm and welcoming community providing a rigorous education to our students.
The House system at the British International School Abu Dhabi plays an important pastoral role in the school and provides students and teachers with a sense of identity and belonging.

Upon joining the school, each student from Nursery to Year 13 is allocated a house, and we always ensure that siblings are placed in the same house.
The House system helps foster a community spirit, provides opportunities to connect with students in different year groups, and allows students to support each other both socially and academically. Through this system we cultivate achievement through celebrating success, offering opportunities for all, injecting a sense of positivity, and striving for excellence in all areas of school life.
Each House symbol represents a tree that is native to the United Kingdom and a creature that is associated with courage and determination:
We encourage students to play an active role in the success of their house. Students earn house points throughout the year for a number of important and valuable skills. Individual and team efforts are rewarded, and students are expected to contribute to Inter-house competitions throughout the year.
