‘Science on Stage’: this would be the best description of the Science workshops offered to parents and students on NAISAK’s very first Open Day. Science tends to be a popular subject as it is based around hands-on experiments. The lab was set up to host a variety of sets of experiments, such as relighting a candle, making a test tube disappear, investigating how acidic/basic household products are, making a cheek cell slide, and watching stomata under a microscope. Parents carried out experiments with their children: it was wonderful to see expressions on students’ face when exploring human cells. Observing bean-shaped stomata under a microscope brought them closer to understanding facts about plants.
