Dear Parents and Students
A warm welcome back to what has been an eventful summer and a wonderful first day back to school. It has been brilliant to see so many happy children returning to school, looking smart in their new uniforms this morning. We have initiated a number of changes this year to our start of term arrangements, including inviting parents to attend Foundation Stage lessons and having a staggered entry, which have enabled our youngest students to have a very positive and warm welcome to school. I would like to extend a note of gratitude to our new Foundation Stage Leader, Ms Tracey Phillips and the entire Foundation Stage team who have worked tirelessly to ensure the classrooms were prepared for today. I would also like to say thank you to all of the parents that gave up their time to be with their children.
If you were able to have dropped off your children at school this morning, you will have noticed that many improvements have been made to our campus, including having outdoor access for all six of our Foundation Stage classrooms and a new school Library. The campus has been painted and is looking better than ever. We look forward to opening the canteen in the coming weeks as well.
I am delighted to report that we have obtained approvals to develop the sports facilities on our campus. We are looking to break ground and begin building new hard courts as soon as possible. There had been some contractual discussions, which led to delays but are now resolved. This breakthrough represents a significant milestone for us at NAISAK and will allow us to address many of the challenges we have faced with improving our campus.
I look forward to providing you with detailed updates in the near future.
We have many important upcoming events, including a Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) meeting on Tuesday 12 September at 07:15 in the Principal’s Office, which all parents are warmly welcome to attend. Tuesday’s meeting will involve a round table discussion where we consider our school’s vision and philosophy. We have spent a portion of our in-service training period reviewing our philosophy with teachers and learning assistants, and will do the same with parents and students alike. The aim is to have guiding statements that help provide vision and direction as we move forward as a community.
We are introducing a Meet the Teacher afternoon on Tuesday 19 September from 14:00 to 18:00. This will allow you to meet your children’s classroom teachers or form tutors, and learn more about school procedures and how we can work together to further support your children’s learning.
