Year 5 Mangrove Trip

Last week our Year 5 students visited the mangrove at Bang Pu. This is a conservation area in which the mangrove has been regenerated. This trip fits in nicely with the Year 5 unit on sustainability. The students had a great time learning about the mangrove itself and the varied life it contains.

Year 5 Music Concert

Tuesday afternoon is the Year 5 Music Concert. The students will be performing a showcase of all of the work they have done in their music lessons this year so far. The students will play in separate instrumental groups and as an ensemble. There will also be some soloists performing throughout the concert.

Parents are invited to come along on Tuesday to support the students and enjoy their performances. The concert will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Drama Studio.

St. Andrews Community BCST “Bird Walk”

Mr Ewen and Ms Kiyomi would like to invite key stage two children and their parents to this community event on Sunday 26th of March from 7.30 am until approx. 11.00 am. It aims introduce children to the pleasures of bird watching in Bangkok’s Suan Luang Rama 9 Park. The event will be run in conjunction with the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST), who will provide expert, English speaking guides and equipment.

Because this is a non-curricular event we are asking parents to accompany their child/children on the walk. Brothers and sisters are welcome, but the event is not suitable for very young children. There is a small charge per person to cover the BCST's costs. There are limited space so we will so they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  If you are interested in coming along please email us and we will forward further details. We look forward to seeing you there.

Book Week 2017 is here!!

Book Week has finally arrived in the Primary School. A PDF of the all of the activities and competitions that are taking place over the course of this incredibly busy week can be found here. Please have a look to help decide which competitions your child/children can enter to earn valuable house points and other prizes.

One standout competition- which is a new addition for this year- is the ‘The Great STA Book Week Bake Off’. To compete, the students need to bake a Roald Dahl themed cake. All entries will be judged by a panel consisting of some members of our school staff alongside some catering professionals.

Don’t forget that Tanya Landman, our visiting author (click here for more info on her) will be available to sign copies of her books, which are for sale on both days of her visit. There are limited copies so will go quickly, but she will be able to send some signed copies across to us when she returns to the UK for anyone who misses out.

You can see the titles  and prices below.
