Bug Club Online Reading Books from Reception to Y6

Mrs Leanne, our Literacy Co-ordinator, has shared with all KS2 parents the details of Bug Club, our exciting new online reading resource.  Bug Club is new to us this year and is meant to add another dimension to the students’ reading, with a mixture of digital books which include questions to check the children’s understanding  and paper books that can be taken home.  The books in your child’s My Stuff area have been allocated by the class teacher, and just like regular reading books,  are leveled to their ability.

If you haven’t tried them yet, log in soon.  We think they will appeal to everyone.  Contact the class teachers or Mrs Leanne if you have any questions. The website is easy to navigate, and there will be a KS2 reading workshop for parents coming soon, which will include a “Getting to Know Bug Club” session, as well as handy hints for getting the most out of reading with your child.

Global Classroom

As a Nord Anglia Education School, St Andrews students have access to the Global Campus website. This is a fantastic online learning zone which allows Nord Anglia students from across the globe to share experiences, enter competitions and become better global citizens.

All KS2 students can access the Global Campus from their Moodle Homepage. After logging into Moodle, click on the Global Campus logo (as shown above) in the top right hand corner of the screen to be taken to the site. Once inside there are two areas that KS2 students should visit. Y3 should enter the Under 8s area and Y4-6 should enter the Primary section. There’s lots to explore, with Y4-6 children having their Global Campus passport to help them. Students should also activate their digital passports in the Passport section.

INSET Day Closure

Please remember that the school is closed for students on Monday 25th September. This has been set aside as a training (INSeT) day for teachers and academic staff. School will re-open on Tuesday 26th September.
