The St Andrews International School Bangkok summer production of Bugsy Malone is drawing ever closer - tickets are on sale at the High School Accounts Office. Our IB Theatre students impress with their assessed solo pieces and Year 7 impress with their Greek Theatre work.

Bugsy Malone

The High School summer production of Bugsy Malone is in the final stages of rehearsals and last Monday saw the orchestra, cast and crew come together for the very first time.  We still have a long way to go before we are in full swing, but it’s safe to say that a lot of fun was had whilst we worked out the logistics of our collaboration. Tickets are now on sale at the Accounts window of the Blue Building. Miss it. Miss out.

Year 12 Solo Pieces for IB Theatre Studies

The Year 12 IB Theatre students also took to the stage on Thursday 28 March for their assessed solo pieces.  Each student performed a piece of theatre underpinned by their chosen theatrical theory. A piece which they have designed, directed and performed on their own. Students followed up their performance with an audience talk back session to ascertain the impact of their intentions. It was a successful and enjoyable evening for all involved.

Year 7 Greek Theatre - Stand out Performances

This term, Year 7 have been working on re-enacting popular myths in their Greek Theatre unit while learning new and challenging techniques - we’ve seen some fantastic tableaux, and slow motion scenes.

Their creativity really shone through when they made their very own Greek theatre masks and the performances that accompanied them were outstanding.

A massive round of applause goes to Merry (7a), Sanya (7b), Poon (7c), Ping (7d), Aidan (7e), Pearie (7f), Shion (7g), Aashna (7h), Siwoo (7i) and Ohm (7j) for creating the best masks in their respective classes.

An honourable mention must also go to Sonya (7a), Alex (7a), Kiri (7a), Bryan (7f) and Smera (7h) for their incredible creations too.

Well done to the whole of Year 7 for all their amazing work.
