I started at St Andrews in 2015. As well as being an English teacher, I have held a variety of roles during my career including: Literacy coordinator; Staff Governor; Second in Department and a Director of Learning, a role which I undertook for 9 years at a school in the North East of England.
I have always loved to travel and explore, I am usually planning my next trip on the flight home! The quotation by Saint Augustine that “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page.” has always meant a lot to me as I strongly believe you cannot understand the world if you do not make the most of the opportunities available to you.
I decided that I wanted to become a part of St. Andrews when I was researching international schools as I was impressed that the word “happy” was included in the mission statement. It sounded exactly the type of school I had always wanted to work at.
