Staff Profiles: Mr Jarrod

Jarrod Roberts

Head of Mathematics and Technology

After graduating from university, I taught for eight years in Melbourne, Australia. In search of adventure I headed to the UK, where I taught in London. London was an amazing place to work and live, until winter comes around. That is how I ended up here in Thailand.

I spent the next six years working at an international school in Khao Yai, which is a beautiful place not far from Bangkok where the air is fresh, and there are lots of lovely waterfalls and golf courses. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, though in search of new experiences and to further develop professionally I am grateful to have the opportunity to join St Andrews International School Bangkok in 2014.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time at the beach, playing golf, and have what my wife calls ‘an obsession’ with football (mainly of the Aussie Rules variety). I also enjoy the opportunity to work with programmes supporting those in the community who are in need, which includes but is not limited to helping raise funds for less privileged Thai children to stay in school.

St Andrews is more than just a school, it is an amazing community. It differs to other schools I have worked in that the whole journey for students is shared with the students in a way that helps them not achieve academically, but develop into conscientious young leaders who will have a positive impact on the world.
