I started teaching while still studying to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Physics at the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia. Since then, I became passionate about teaching and started my career as a High School Physics teacher right after graduating in 2002. I have worked since 2004 in different international schools, first in Colombia and then more recently in Cambodia, where I worked since 2016 in the Nord Anglia school in Phnom Penh.
After finishing my Specialisation in Bilingual Education, I decided to start a Master's Degree for International Educators with the State University of New York, which I finished in 2015. As a teacher leader in my previous schools, I have been Head of the Science Department and the IB Middle Years Programme coordinator. I also worked with the IB as an author for the MYP e-Assessments in Physics.
The year 2021 marks the beginning of my journey at St Andrews, where I know I will learn from the best and contribute to the learning and happiness of our students. I love nature and exploring new places, so I travel as much as possible in my free time. I enjoy nature photography, so I am very excited about the fantastic biodiversity Thailand has to offer. Like many Colombians, I enjoy dancing, and I also use my free time listening to music that connects me to my Colombian roots.
St Andrews is a school that has grown enormously and has been able to stay loyal to its founding principles. From the beginning, it was a place where the happiness of every member of the community was a goal and today. Everyone keeps working towards the same objective.
