Having qualified as a Design and Technology teacher in 2011, I worked at a small school in the UK which focused on supporting pupils with special educational needs. In 2013, I moved to Dubai for my first international teaching post for four years. This brand new school and integration into a new country and culture started my passion for working internationally. It was here I began to take on opportunities that arose and took on new roles, such as Key Stage 2 - Key Stage 3 Transition Coordinator and Head of Design and Technology. I love to work with pupils from around the world and learn about their exciting lives and experiences.
I feel very privileged to have moved on to work at Epsom College in Malaysia and experience the boarding school system. The pupils inspired me to develop my resilience and aspirations. As Head of Department, I created the curriculum to encourage the children in my care and also began to fully understand how pupils develop socially and emotionally within the classroom and after school hours. My time spent in the boarding house with the pupils are some of my most treasured memories.
My journey to Thailand started in 2019 when I started working at another International School in Bangkok within the Design Technology department and as a Whole School Co-curricular Coordinator. Thailand is an incredible country which I absolutely love. The beauty of the country and the people continuously amazes me.
When starting work here at St Andrews, this was the point when I felt truly happy and settled within Thailand. The school community is fantastic - students, staff and parents. I feel fully supported and encouraged to pursue my passions within my career. I am very grateful and proud to have the opportunity to develop as a teacher and leader here and look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for Design and Technology with my students.
My family is the most important thing to me - my dog, Mo, and cat, Morty, and my husband, Jorge.
St Andrews promotes staff and student wellbeing and has a real support network. I feel valued and are continually given opportunities to develop in my career and personal life. The students are great! They are hardworking, aspirational and bring energy to the community - the school wouldn't be what it is without them!
