I have an MA in Education Technology from UCL, a PGCE with QTS in Computer Science and a First Class BSc in Computer Science. I also have various professional certifications including the EIPA Data Protection Officer from Maastricht, Luxembourg and I am Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH v11) from EC-Council.
I have been teaching Computer Science for around 10 years but my career in industry as a security engineer spans over 20 years and I have worked in most parts of the world including Macau, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore and Thailand. I am currently working in a role at St Andrews as Data Protection and Security Compliance Manager, this role allows me to use my years of industry experience and keep data subject information as secure as possible.
I specialise in Robotics, Cyber Security and Computer Science and enjoy helping my students and St Andrews understand many areas of Computer Science including how they can use Raspberry Pi's and VEX Robotics to become better Computer Scientists and enjoy sharing my industry experience with students that I teach.
I have many hobbies outside of the classroom which include sailing, running and robotics and also have a busy family life outside of school with two young children. At every opportunity, I travel with my young family as much as possible.
My son is currently studying at St Andrews and one of the reasons why I accepted a role at the school was so he could have a truly international education at a first class school in Bangkok. I look forward to my daughter joining him later next year.
