After completing my degree in linguistics, I moved to the UK where I specialized in PGCE French and Spanish. There, I worked in a mixed academy school in Birmingham. Following this great experience, I decided to pursue my dream of moving to Asia and discovering more about the culture here. I first moved to Shanghai, China, where I had the opportunity to have my first experience teaching French and Spanish in an International School.
During my time there, I learnt a lot about Chinese language and its culture. Few years later, I carried on my journey and moved to Hanoi,Vietnam. I developed a deeper knowledge of how to provide lessons that support students becoming lifelong learners and independence.
I have always been passionate about languages. Being able to communicate in different languages is a great tool to be part of diverse communities. Every time I move into a new country I like learning as much as I can of the language spoken there.
I also believe that it is important to be active, this is why I go for a run or play basketball when I have a chance to do so. Another of my hobby is to explore new places with my partner whether it is a new restaurant, a new city or a new activity.
I wanted to work at St Andrews due to its vision of education. It is a place where students have a lot of opportunities to expand their knowledge in a wide range of areas thanks to the support of a strong community. As a language teacher, I feel that this type of environment is the best to promote life long learning skills alongside resilience and passion.
"I am enthusiastic about engaging students within the wider school. Working with students outside of the classroom helps me getting to know them in a different setting. As such, Students usually say I am caring and they know where to find me if they need any help. "
