I graduated from Heriot Watt University, Scotland in 1993 with a Bachelor degree in Physical Education and have been teaching ever since. I spent my initial years teaching in 2 different International schools in East Sussex, England before deciding to move overseas. My first job was in Egypt where I spent 4 years in Cairo.
After this I moved with the family to Thailand and I taught in The Regents School, Bangkok campus for 8 years, Bangkok Prep for 2 years before moving to St Andrews Intenrational School Bangkok where I taught for 3 years before re-locating to Penang, Malaysia. I taught there for 2 years and returned to St Andrews 2017.
I am married with 2 children. Lynne, my wife is also a teacher and my 2 children are called Andrew and Holly. I come from a sporting background having played football when I was younger for Queen of the South FC and also Scotland U18’s.
As I grew older I started to play rugby for a local rugby team but now I am a keen cyclist and every year I have done a charity cycle ride for local charities both in Bangkok and Phuket. This started in 2010.
The school is a community with everyone being so friendly and they genuinely try to help each other out.
