Our teachers deliver exceptional learning experiences that open up a world of opportunities, inspiring your child to achieve more than they imagined possible.

Outstanding teachers make outstanding schools

Our students tell us they love coming to school. And that’s down to our world-class teachers, who create a safe, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment.

At the British International School Bratislava (BISB), we only recruit the best. Being part of the Nord Anglia family of schools helps us to attract talented people with a wealth of experience in British and international schools. All our teachers are carefully chosen, too; they’re experts in their field and hold UK qualified status or equivalent.

Like our students, it’s crucial our teachers never stop learning. We make sure they continue to develop and grow, supported by accreditation from the best training organisations and Nord Anglia University.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM AND AT HOME

TEACHER-LED TECHNOLOGY

At the British International School Bratislava, we reimagine learning through a seamless blend of personalised teaching and the latest education technology (EdTech).

Login to Nord Anglia’s Global Campus platform and your child will discover a world of opportunities. They’ll connect with classmates in countries across the world and get stuck into one-off global projects and exciting challenges. They’ll also explore specially curated content from our world-leading partners, including MIT and The Juilliard School.

Our secure digital space is open to parents, too, enabling you to play an active part in your child’s learning. Every student in Years 2-11 is given an iPad with integrated keyboard, while lessons in our modern classrooms, labs and libraries are brought to life by 3D printers, interactive software, drones and more.

TEACHER QUALITY

Our promise to offer a world of opportunities doesn’t just apply to our students – it includes our teachers, too. We encourage them to hone their teaching through world-class training and development.

  • Our professional development programmes are supported by outstanding organisations, including the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the Associated Board for the Royal School of Music (ABRSM).
  • The Nord Anglia University platform is the perfect place for teachers to share ideas and best practise. We also encourage them to study for further qualifications, including Master's degrees. This ensures our teachers are at the forefront of global education trends, enabling them to deliver pioneering programmes and cutting-edge learning experiences.
  • Every IBDP teacher is certified and trained by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), giving them the practical understanding and theoretical knowledge they need to guide our students to success.

TEACHING AND LEARNING STANDARDS

Our teachers are specialists in their field, who have a wealth of experience in British and international schools. We recruit fluent English speakers who have UK qualified teacher status (or equivalent).

We invest in our teachers’ learning, offering unrivalled opportunities for them to develop and grow. This is the best way to guarantee that your child gets the highest quality academic education. We also regularly assess our teachers against local and national benchmarks, as well as Nord Anglia’s stringent Quality Assurance Framework. Through rigorous background screening, a strong safeguarding policy, and criminal record checks, we ensure our students are safe at school.

We’re proud to have such a committed, highly qualified, and caring group of teachers. 92% of our parents agree that their child receives a high quality education, while 93% strongly agree that their child has a good relationship with their teacher.
