Our Annual Celebration has grown leaps and bounds with a showcase of 28 countries this year! A much cooler day than last year made for perfect weather outdoors. Léman was bursting with color, textures, tastes, music and games.
The event started with a Parade of Nations escorted by Headmaster, David Mindorff. Over 40 flags waved in the sun as staff and students in national colors and dress marched together to traditional music. Following was performances showcasing instrumental and vocal talents, traditional dances from Mexico and Philippines and ending in an International song celebration.
Students then visited each country booth to get a taste of local delicacies, participate in learning activities and receive a stamp for their passports.
The day culminated in LIS particular favorite: the raffle of country hampers. This year we raised over 12,000 RMB to support further school events, while winners walked away with fantastic prizes for the whole family!
What a great celebration of our diverse community. LIS is growing a generation who respects and appreciates all the peoples of the world. A proud day for Léman!
