Since the start of term, our High School food enthusiasts have been whipping up a range of sweet and savoury treats and having a lot of fun in the process.

This week the kitchen was a hive of activity as students worked in groups following a recipe for pineapple upside-down cake. Yummy vanilla and pineapple smells wafted from the kitchen door, tempting us to peek inside! Students enjoyed filling their cake cases with fruit ready for the oven, and took care beating their cake mixtures until they were smooth. Everyone got involved with the different stages of baking, and it was great to see some of the boys leading the way doing the washing up.

Learning to cook gives a great sense of freedom and independence. It is a very useful skill to have, and is a great way to relax and have fun!
