It was fantastic to have five STA players representing the school and displaying an incredibly high level of rugby skill as they took on Vajiravudh College, arguably the best rugby school in Thailand. Well done Harry, Jack, Vi, Valentino and Tolga.

Five STA players shine for the Bangkok Representative Rugby Team! This week saw the first-ever fixture for the Bangkok Schools Representative Rugby Squad. This is an elite squad of U17 rugby players selected for their rugby ability from a range of International Schools across Bangkok.

We recently saw the first-ever fixture for the Bangkok Schools Representative Rugby Squad. This is an elite squad of U17 rugby players selected for their rugby ability from a range of International Schools across Bangkok.

Despite treacherous conditions, Harry displayed pinpoint accuracy with his passes and linked play exceptionally well. Vi Cicci was ruthless in attack, carrying the ball well and gaining important metres as he consistently broke through opposition tackles. Valentino showed excellent tackling technique and played a number of positions during the game, showing his variety of skills and ability to adapt. Tolga created lots of problems for the opposition with his powerful running, which at times could not be stopped as Tolga secured an important try for the team. Arguably though, the stand-out performance came from our youngest player. Jack was relentless and fearless in everything he did. He carried well, tackled well and was a menace at the set-piece, completing jobs that often go unnoticed but are so important for the team.

The boys played 4 periods of 7s rugby, drawing the first two, losing the third and winning the fourth. A fantastic achievement for a newly formed team with little preparation. We hope to continue to work with the Bangkok Representative Rugby Squad as it grows next year and offers even more opportunities for rugby players to progress in Bangkok.
