CURRICULum GUIDE

Curricula Guide | BIS Chicago, South Loop | Nord Anglia - 01 - Tertiary Page Header

BISC - South Loop combines both the English and international curricula to personalize learning to every student’s needs. This means we can challenge and support them in a way that helps them thrive.

The National Curriculum for England “spirals,” meaning students revisit concepts every year, and lay the foundations for a strong understanding of the world around them. The International Primary Curriculum is thematic which enables students to make connections across subjects and provides a clear structure for them to become fully engaged.

Primary and Middle School are great times for children to take intellectual risks and discover what they’re passionate about.

By High School, students begin to specialize by choosing subjects according to their interests or future plans while still keeping their classes broad and balanced. This unique course gives students the best possible preparation for college or university, opening the door to their top-choices and a successful future.

IGCSEs are a set of exams designed for students aged 14–16, although they can be taken at any age. They are a sturdy launchpad for any student’s future as they forge a pathway to either A levels, or the IB Diploma.
