Patrick went to university in Liverpool where he studied for a degree in English. He moved to Birmingham to complete a PGCE course in Teacher Training. During his time in Birmingham, he completed the CCRS certificate (Catholic Teaching in Primary Schools). This year, he has completed a Master accredited ESL training course through the government of South Australia.
Patrick took the decision to come to NAIS because of the great reputation the school has for academic excellence. He has always wanted to work in China, currently he is learning to speak Mandarin.
Patrick has worked at schools both in the UK and the Middle-East. He has also undertaken the role of subject leader for maths and science, and coached football.

Patrick enjoys running, he has competed in two races so far in China. When he worked in the Middle East he took part in races in Jordan, Oman, Dubai, Qatar and Ireland. Outside of work, Patrick is also a keen footballer, playing as a defender for a Shanghai team. He is also an enthusiastic guitar player, who enjoys bring music into the classroom.
