Dear Parents,

Christmas time is here!! I’m sure you’re all very excited to be heading on your holidays for this festive season. I know you will agree that your children deserve a well-earned break from study – they have been superstars this term. A particular highlight of the festive period was the choir… A big thank you to those who supported these events.
Please find below some information that will be useful to you for returning to school in January.
The first day back to school will be Tuesday 5th January. A normal bus service will resume on this day. The school will continue to be open over the holiday period for any parents that wish to buy uniform.
ASAs will resume the week beginning 18th January, 2016. Sign up for ASAs will begin on the 12th January.
Academic Dates for Aug 2016 /2017
I know parents like to plan as far in advance as possible. I have attached to this letter the term dates for next academic year. A further full-year calendar will be issued during the third term, stating all school events for the whole year. Please do not confuse this with the start dates for this academic year!
Lost Property
Please do take every opportunity to have a look in our lost property cabinet, near the main reception area. I have noted quite a lot of lost property this term. We will be setting up a new checking system, so that all named clothing is returned to the student and not put in the lost property cupboard. This holiday would be a good opportunity to check the names in your child’s clothing to ensure they have the correct uniform. If clothing is unnamed, please add this to help us with getting lost property back to the correct owners.
… And Finally
I would like to thank all parents, staff and particularly the students for making me feel welcome at BSB, Sanlitun this term. I already feel part of the furniture and your support has been invaluable in helping me to settle into the role. I look forward to continuing to work with you in making BSB, Sanlitun the very best school that Beijing has to offer.
Festive regards,
David Laird
The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun
