I achieved my Bachelor of Arts degree, with Initial Teacher Training, in Primary Education in 2009. I then began my career as a Year 2 teacher at Norbury Manor Primary in Croydon. During this time I became a P.E. coordinator; running sports days and charity events. I also spent time as a literacy coordinator at a secondary school in Kent, developing a project to improve phonics understanding, reading and writing. I have also taught across both key stages through long term and daily supply work. I believe it is important to inspire pupils through interactive, real life learning experiences and I enjoy developing confident, happy lifelong learners.
As I move into my fourth year in Year One at BSB Sanlitun, I look forward to developing a love of learning within a new set of enquiring minds. My role as year leader and PSHE leader continues. The role of PHSE leader has enabled me to create a deeper understanding of the children’s development throughout the primary phase and I look forward to using this knowledge to support my class and other groups throughout the next year. I love working with the strong, enthusiastic team here at BSB Sanlitun and enjoy the community feel the school has to offer.
Over the years I have grown to love exploring the culture, food and places around Beijing. Cycling is my main mode of transport here and I love to discover new events and places to go as I cycle around the many different areas of the city. My aim is to continue to travel to different places inside and outside of China as I believe it is a fantastic way to expand the mind, form well established opinions and make unforgettable memories.
