Staff Profile: Charles Campbell

Charles Campbell

Year 3 Toucans Class Teacher

I was born in Northern Ireland in 1963. I graduated as a teacher from the University of Ulster in 1986. I have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from there. So, I have been a teacher in primary schools for thirty years!

I taught in Limavady, in County Londonderry for many years and then I was seconded for nine years, by the Department of Education, UK, to the European School Munich, in Germany. For the last two years, I have been teaching in a British school in Seoul, South Korea.

I am delighted to come to BSB, Sanlitun, because of the world renowned reputation of Nord Anglia schools. I am also very keen that my two sons continue their learning of Mandarin, which they began two years ago, in Korea and I am also looking forward to returning to China to further my studies of tai chi and qigong.

I am married to Berry, who comes from Transylvania and whose first language is Hungarian. We have two sons, Robert, born in 2010 and Antony, born in 2009 and they were both born in Germany. I have studied karate for over forty years. I practise karate every morning and I have two black belts. I have cycled to and from school for over twelve years and I also enjoy jogging, photography and cooking. I love writing musicals for primary school pupils, based on famous books. I have support Chelsea FC since I was seven years old. My personal aspiration is to bring my love of books, plays and poetry into the lives of the pupils of BSB.
