Staff Profile: Thomas Magson

Thomas Magson

P.E. Teacher

I have been teaching PE in the UK for several years throughout both Primary and Secondary education. This has provided me with the experience of teaching across all 4 key stages of the English National Curriculum, including GCSE. I studied Sport Science at Northumbria University and after completing a placement year at a local secondary school, I made the decision to embark on a career in teaching. After graduating, I completed my teacher training through Teesside University’s PGCE Programme at High Tunstall College of Science. I have since went on to lead the delivery of PE at Grange Primary School and managed the schools extra-curricular programme.

BSB Sanlitun has provided me with the platform to teach Physical Education in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. An opportunity I grasped with both hands. I hope to pass on my sporting knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to the children of BSB Sanlitun.

Outside of the working environment I remain a sport-orientated individual. Although a keen all-round sportsman, my primary sport is football. I have competed at semi-professional level and represented the British Colleges Football Team in 2008. I am also a fitness fanatic and enjoy working out up to 5 times a week. When not performing myself, I enjoy going to support Newcastle United with my father at St. James Park.

“Mr Magson is very kind and funny. He has helped me improve my PE skills and taught us many exciting new sports.”
