After moving from Ohio to Chicago in 2006, I attended Columbia College where I studied art and design with a minor in education. During my time at Columbia I worked with Chicago Public Schools teaching after-school art classes. In 2010 I received my bachelor's degree with honors from Columbia. After graduating, I spent several years working for art galleries in the city. My time in the galleries was rewarding, but I still had a desire to work in education. The opportunity to come to BISC was the perfect fit for me, combining my expertise in art and education.
Growing up in a small quiet town in Ohio gave me a lot of time to get involved in the arts. I was a classically trained ballet dancer for 15 years. Along with dance, I enjoy painting and exploring different art mediums. I’m currently pursuing a degree in art therapy where I hope to work with children and adults with special needs.
