The North Broward Parent-Student-Teacher Association (NB-PSTA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of dedicated parent volunteers working directly with teachers and administrators to benefit the entire school community. Parents from all three divisions, Lower School, Middle School and High School, are members of the NB-PSTA.
The NB-PSTA sponsors programs and events that unite the three divisions, enlighten our school community and enhance our students’ educational experiences. Through the NB-PSTA, parents have many volunteer opportunities that allow them to participate more fully in their children’s school experience. Many of these activities help families build friendships with other school families.
As a result of parent participation and generous financial support, the NB-PSTA’s fund raising efforts provide a Speaker Series, support for ongoing teacher professional development, a Homecoming Tailgate Party, teacher gift cards for supplies and other significant ongoing projects. Speakers have included Pat Williams from the Orlando Magic, Josh Ochs – Safe, Smart, Social fouonder who teaches kids to shine online, Jay Asher - NY Times best selling author of Thirteen Reasons Why, and local World War II veterans. Additionally, the PSTA has allocated funds for laser cutters and printers in the Fab Lab, established the Middle School Tower Garden, and purchased an electro-stim therapy unit for our athletes, as well as a mobile sound system for use school-wide.
This active organization is overseen by an Executive Board, elected by the parent members. Monthly Executive Board meetings are open to all NB-PSTA members and include updates from the Lower, Middle and High Schools.
