After graduating I trained as an Account Specialist for TUI Ltd where I was responsible for the management of payments to transport companies worldwide. It was here I received Oracle, Agresso and database management training. In 2006, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to work for a start-up company in the role of Production Manager and Researcher specialising in multi-media communications, clients including: Coventry City Council, CV One, BBC and the NHS for whom we produced training videos for.
After completing a Masters degree and undertaking an Accounts role, I was awarded funding by the Graduate Advantage to work in a marketing role, managing video and web content for a micro-enterprise specialising in serious games and E-learning. It was during this role that I started training graduates and teaching part-time, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to undertake my teacher training, which subsequently led to a full-time teaching post.
I chose to live in China in 2012 and after researching schools my decision was very easy as I found the British School of Guangzhou the most informative, professional, organised and welcoming.
I enjoy travelling and exploring different places and experiencing other cultures. When I’m in Guangzhou and not working I enjoy shopping, eating out and morning tea. I am currently learning Mandarin and hope to pass a proficiency test in the near future. I have two cats; Little B and Min Min.
