I graduated from Lancaster University in 2007 with a 2:1 in History and Religious Studies and after finishing my PGCE the following year, I started working in Liverpool as a Humanities teacher. After three years I moved to Runcorn and spent a following two years teaching across the Humanities, specialising in History. The humanities have always been my passion and since studying History, Psychology and Religious Studies at A Level as well as at degree level, I have been lucky enough to teach them, as well as Geography since qualifying.
My partner and I decided to apply for international jobs late 2012 and we found fantastic jobs in early 2013 at Regents International School, Pattaya, an amazing school in Thailand that is also part of the Nord Anglia network of schools. After spending three years there as Head of History and enjoying every minute of it, I decided it was time for a fresh challenge and a change of scenery and I applied for my current role at BSG. I have been a form tutor for the past eight years and knew applying for a Head of Year role was the next step in my career. I also knew I wanted to stay within Nord Anglia so the opportunity here seemed too good to pass.
I am really interested in travel and spend all my available time visiting new places. In the past three years I have visited many places in Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. I am looking forward to traveling around China, especially visiting the Great Wall.
I am really looking forward to my new role within the pastoral team and have always aspired to be more involved in the pastoral side of education.
