welcome back

Message from the Principal - 13th January 2017

We certainly didn’t waste any time getting the second term off to a great start. First off a very warm welcome to our new families that joined us this week, whilst for many families relocating from warmer climates such as Dubai, South America and Australia the temperature outside may have been chilly, the atmosphere inside was warm and welcoming as our new starters met with members of the community group to find out more about life in Shanghai.

Hour of Code

During the last two weeks of Term 1, many of the Primary students at NAIS were involved in the annual global Hour of Code.  The Hour of Code is a global movement which reaches tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. In the Primary school we believe that computing nurtures problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path.

Message from Secondary - 13th January 2017

Happy New Year! We hope that you had a relaxing break and are ready for the busy term ahead! This week the mock exams for Years 11 and 13 began and we’d like to commend the students for their mature approach to these valuable assessments. We were also delighted to receive the improved resit results for some of last year’s Year 13 students and a big congratulations goes out to Aiden Wong who has achieved our highest point score of 44.

What Does it Mean to be an International Student?

Our names are Sammi Huang and I-Zac Lee and we are the Internationalism Leaders at the Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong. We fought for the role to promote the concept of internationalism throughout our school and to guide the younger students to become more culturally aware and globally integrated. Internationalism is significant to us because we have both lived in Shanghai for more than ten years, and have both had the opportunity to witness how this city has experienced a rapid pace of growth and developed into a highly globalized metropolis.
