Our Learning Journey

Happy New Year and welcome back to school. We would like to give a very warm welcome to the new families joining us this term. The children have settled back into routines really well and we have had an enjoyable first week back hearing all about their adventures over the Christmas break.

A highlight this week has been our trip to The Victoria Theatre to watch “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” which was fantastic. The children were mesmerised  by the production and intrigued by the sound effects of the bear. Luckily, it turned out to be a big cuddly bear and not so scary afterall!

Thank you to all the children for your impeccable behaviour, you were a credit to the school. Thank you also to our parent volunteers.

This week, we have revised  the learning topics from Term 1 ,covering  Going to School, My Family Members and My Lovely Bedroom. Throughout this week, various learning activities had been conducted, including games, learning-related videos, speaking activities and hands-on activities.

Physical Education

This week in PE the children have been learning about running in athletics, with a focus on starts and arm movement to increase their speed. In swimming they have been looking back on prior learning to help refresh their memories for the next lessons, focusing on freestyle this week.

In Music this week your children have sang accompanied with instruments to practise their pulse whilst singing. They have also started to learn about pitch.

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home

As we have been looking at “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” this week, we would love to meet some bears from home. Please send your child in with a toy bear on Monday for them to show to the class during the week and on Friday we will be having a Teddy Bear's Picnic.
