Our Learning Journey

This week in Nursery we have been celebrating Diwali. We enjoyed listening to the story of Rama and Sita and learning songs about the festival. In class, we have explored rangoli patterns, created firework pictures and made sparkly Diya lamps.

Mandarin

The students have continued to learn about family members. New vocabulary has been learnt this week such as 爷爷 (Grandpa), 奶奶 (Granny), 外公 (Grandfather), 外婆 (Grandmother), 叔叔(Uncle) and 阿姨 (Auntie). Additionally, we have revised the sentence pattern “This is grandfather/grandmother.” Students also learnt a nursery rhyme about family members.

Physical Education

This week the children have been exploring balancing, climbing and jumping in PE. In swimming, the children have been improving their confidence through fun games.

Music

In Music this week, your children have continued to practise playing a percussion instrument as an accompaniment whilst singing. They have continued to work on rhythm and beat. Your children have also started to explore pitch and the difference between high pitch and low pitch.

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home

We look forward to hearing about your half term break. We would love to see and share your holiday adventures with the class. Please email your photos to your teacher.
