Our Learning Journey

Wow! The Nativity was amazing! What a fantastic performance from all the Nursery students. Your teachers are very proud.

In class this week we have been creating Christmas cards and writing letters to Santa. We have also loved exploring and creating our own Christmas patterns using the interactive whiteboard. We also loved making our own tree decorations using clay.

Thank you to all the children for all their hard work this term. They have all settled into school brilliantly. We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 9th January 2017.

Nursery has been continuing to learn Christmas words this week including  “圣诞老人“ (Santa),”圣诞树“ (Christmas tree),”圣诞礼物”(Christmas gift) and “快乐” (happy). We also learnt to say “happy Christmas” in Chinese. Nursery pupils then started to learn to sing-a-long to the Christmas song “Jingle Bells” in Mandarin:

Physical Education

This week the children have been enjoying a lesson of exploring the gymnastic equipment while listening to Christmas songs as a treat for the hard work they have put into PE and their Christmas plays this year. In swimming, for those that swam, the children have also played small games to end the year with confidence in the water.

In their last music lesson this week, your children have practised their singing for the Pop-Up Nativity performance. They did a great job!

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home

During the first week of term, everyone will have the chance to share their favourite Christmas present or tell us a story about the holiday. Please send a toy or photo onto school on Monday 9th January. It is always a nice idea to practice what your child might say at home first to help boost their confidence.
