Our Learning Journey

In Nursery this week the children have been telling stories and illustrating our ideas. Our amazing ideas are being displayed around the classrooms for you to see. NFD have enjoyed a space themed week. We have been making spiky aliens by hammering golf tees into potatoes. We have been really engaged with the rocket and astronauts small world objects which have been helping to develop our language and social skills.

Mandarin

This week, the students have been celebrating the Mid-Autumn festival. They have engaged in various hands-on related activities to heighten their awareness of this cultural celebration. They have been designing moon cakes, singing, making lanterns and listening stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.

Physical Education

In PE the children have been continuing to understand turn taking and replicate movements through structured relays.

Music

Due to the public holiday, children did not have a specialist lesson this week. They have continued to explore different sounds through continuous provision in class.

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home

The children have enjoyed being authors this week and would love to carry on practising at home. You may want to try some of the ideas below:

  • Adults scribing stories for children.
  • Drawing or painting a story.
  • Acting out a story and filming it.
  • Using small world figures and characters to create a story (you could film or take photos of this).

It would be great to receive work, pictures or videos of the children so we can share it in class.
