Our Learning Journey

This week, Nursery have been practising our rhyming skills. We have enjoyed listening to rhyming stories and the children were encouraged to join in with the words. With their teacher, the children played games such as rhyming bingo, to help them to recognise words and pictures that have the same ending sounds.

Although on our picnic day it rained, the children enjoyed creating an inside den to eat our snacks in. The rain also inspired many of the children to become a weather team, who used clip boards to record the forecast and feedback to the class.

This week we looked the colours white (bái sè) and black (hēi sè). We also looked at the three words for rainbow (cǎi hóng), flowers (huā), and leaves (yè zi).  We used the colours to describe them, such as white flowers (bái sè de huā). We had some hands-on activities to consolidate our learning. Please also refer to the link: https://quizlet.com/_3ap1mx

Physical Education

This week in PE, the children have been revisiting everything they have learnt in gymnastics, focusing on balancing, jumping and rolling. In swimming, the children have been learning to turn in the water independently.

In Music this week, your children have learned about melody (pitch). They have explored how melodies can move in three different ways: up, down, or in a repeating fashion. This is an age-appropriate concept for helping students to begin to conceptualize melodic contour.

Continuing Our Learning Journey at Home
