    DCIS Proms 2016

16th December 2016

In English this week the children have been following instructions to create melted Snowman biscuits.  They carried out simple steps to decorate their biscuits and then recalled what they needed by completing a list in vertical and horizontal form using commas.  They then wrapped and took their biscuits home.

In Maths this week, the children completed Christmas maths tasks to consolidate their learning in a number of areas including number, addition, subtraction and time.

Project Work

In Project Work this week, the children have been continuing with their celebration project and created a range of crafts in preparation for their party on Friday.

This week, the children continued to extend their learning of words and sentence structure related to ‘My Home’. The children also completed a range of Christmas crafts and continued to practice the “Merry Christmas” song for the Christmas concert.

As a reward for all their hard work this term, for our last lesson before Christmas, the children have been playing Christmas games on abcya.com

Physical Education

This week in PE, the children have been exploring the correct striking technique by hitting a ball at a target as well as creating their own targets to hit.  In swimming, the children have been developing a continual arm action using both arms in their backstroke.

In their last music lesson of the year, the children have practised their singing for their performance of Stable Story. They have done a great job singing and memorising all their lines. Merry Christmas!

This week the children will be issued a review of spellings taught this term.  These sounds will all be familiar to the children.
