Staff Profile: Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar

Occupational Therapist

Sanjay completed his Bachelor of Science at Kanpur University and went on to pursue his interest in Occupational Therapy at IERT/MLN Medical College, Allahabad, India. His passion for working with children motivated him to develop his expertise in the field of paediatrics. He completed post graduate studies at Curtin University of Technology, Australia and All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Bombay. He specialised in Advanced Rehabilitation and developed a standardised assessment test, as a part of his post graduate research work. 


After his post graduate research, Sanjay was sponsored by the Rainbow Centre and Shaw Foundation, Singapore, to do a master’s level program in Sensory Integration at the University of Southern California, USA. He now has over twenty seven years experience during which he has attained certifications in Neuro-Developmental Therapy (NDT), DIR Floor time, Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Sound Therapy Technologies and Interactive Metronome from North America.

In his work Sanjay integrates multiple technologies to enhance the performance and learning in children and is now an “Expert and Training Leader” in DIR Floor time with Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL) USA and has received the “Profectum Fellow” Award from Profectum Academy, NY, USA. He has worked as a consultant, diagnostician, trainer and in management positions with many reputed organisations in Singapore, UK, USA and India.He has made presentations at national and international conferences and mentored professionals and run certified training courses, across the region for parents, professionals, administrators and teachers, to support their understanding on behaviors and performance in children with sensory processing perspective. 

Sanjay's belief is that if we can identify the individual differences of children and support the underlying systems systematically, we can bring out their individual best performance and a sense of well-being in each child.
