Staff Profile: Rachel Evetts

Rachel Evetts

Year 1 Class Teacher (1RE) and Year 1 Group Leader

Rachel graduated from the University of Liverpool and completed her PGCE at Roehampton University.

After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a BA Honours Degree, Rachel taught English as a second language for three years in schools in Poland and Spain before returning to the UK to complete a PGCE at the University of Surrey, Roehampton. It was this initial move to live and work abroad which whet her appetite for teaching and travel, and her eventual move to Singapore and Dover Court.

Rachel enjoyed twelve happy years teaching across the primary phase in London, where she had opportunities to manage literacy and become part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Rachel decided to broaden her teaching experiences further, as well as tap into her love of travel once more, with a move to Singapore and joined DCIS two years ago. She was drawn to Dover Court because of its commitment to an inclusive approach to education and has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Year 2 and Year 1 here over the last two years.

Rachel loves to travel and learn about different cultures and has explored Asia, Africa and Europe with her backpack over the last few years. She is now enjoying exploring the wealth of amazing countries and cultures South-East Asia has to offer and still dusts off the backpack for the occasional weekend break to Thailand! Rachel loves to read and do yoga in her spare time. She also enjoys learning languages and has recently tried her hand at learning Mandarin.
