Mr Christopher Short Weekly Update 16th October

I have a feeling I may be getting older as each half term seems to come around quicker and quicker! Students and colleagues often comment that I seem to get excited about us doing the very smallest things for the first time. However, all agree that this half term has been an exciting jump in developments as, after three successful years, we now have a full set of year groups (Years 7 – 13) and use of all three floors of the secondary end of the building.

One really important ‘first’ and milestone was the IBDP Information morning and afternoon this week. It was brilliant to see so many parents in the school supporting their children to ask insightful questions on the various courses we will offer in Year 12. Subject Leaders and teachers, under Ms Vaughan’s careful guidance, have worked very hard to ensure that students have all the information they need. While most of us are enjoying half term, several of our colleagues will be on further IB training in Jakarta.

Years 11, 12 and 13 were in school alone this week and, in addition to the IBDP information events, it was a great opportunity to focus on these important year groups and ensure they have the support for examination preparation and, of course, the next step in their lives. This was possible as all of Year 7 – 10 were on their annual expedition. I hope you have enjoyed reading the updates on the HUB through the week, more information and photos will be shared after half term.
