It was great to have a full school back again after half term and the
week before that. All four expeditions were a great success and there are photos and write-ups elsewhere on the HUB.
We had a very inspirational visit from Group Captain Below and Staff Sergeant Durrant from the UK Defence Attaché’s office at the British Embassy here in Hanoi. They ran several activities on remembrance with Years 7 -10 focusing on the Poppy Appeal run in the UK and many other countries around the World. This linked very well with History and English, both of whom study World War I and II but was also an excellent lesson in global citizens learning about how other countries remember those who have lost their lives in conflict. We are very grateful to Mr Halpin, our Community Coordinator, for organising this event.
University deadlines are fast approaching so Year 13 are busy finalising their statements and essays for their applications. We still have universities visiting us; this week was the turn of University College, London, one of the top universities in the British capital.
We held another great Talent Show this week, our 4th in the school’s history. Mr Rowlands article has more news on the winners but the standard was excellent and judging very difficult. Many thanks to all students for taking part and the Ms Woolgar and the performing arts team for a great event.
