Ms Sue Hill Weekly Update 11.12.2015

Dear Parents,

It was lovely to see so many parents here on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons this week. Our individual parent and teacher meetings were very well attended and many positive comments were received. I hope you found the meetings useful and feel more informed about your child’s learning. Today, all children in the primary will bring home their mid-term reports which state targets for children to work on and how you can help at home.

Next week, we are having a focus on

Road Safety awareness

. The two most dangerous activities in Vietnam are crossing the street and driving or riding in traffic. The lack of pavements and adequate traffic controls creates a precarious situation for all pedestrians and motorists in the city center. It is not uncommon for visitors or residents to be involved in some type of road incident while attempting to cross one of the many motorcycle-clogged streets in Hanoi.

Children will be reminded of how to be as safe as possible on the Hanoi roads. Wearing helmets when cycling or as a passenger on a motorbike is very important as well as making sure you can be seen easily by wearing bright colours. Reducing traffic on roads by walking or cycling in safe areas or car sharing is another focus for this year’s education programme.

Further details about the activities this week can be found in the

BIS Hub report from Mr. Holmes

and also on your child’s class blogs. Class or year group discos have been organized through the week, with a ‘be visible’ theme. Children can purchase glow sticks to wear at the disco at a cost of 30,000 VND.
