CIE Outstanding Learners at BIS Hanoi

This week I was very pleased to announce to the school community the following Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) ‘Outstanding Learner Awards’ for our students:

Top in Country Award

‘Top in Country’ refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in a country (in our case Vietnam)  for a single subject. BIS Hanoi CIE ‘Outstanding Learner’ and best in Vietnam was:

Hoang Ngoc Tram: Business Studies at AS Level

High Achievement Award

‘High Achievement’ is awarded to learners who have achieved outstanding results in subjects which are not so widely taken. Learners who achieve the highest standard marks in a Country (in this case Vietnam)  in this particular subject will receive the award. BIS Hanoi CIE ‘Outstanding  Learners’  and best in Vietnam were:

Le Tran Thu Thao: Biology at A Level

Nguyen Ngoc Minh: Maths at A Level (Taken a year early)

Nguyen Ngoc Minh: Chemistry at AS Level

Nguyen Ngoc Minh: History at AS Level

Phung Nguyen Minh Anh: Applied Information & Communication Technology at AS Level

Best Across

‘Best Across’ awards are issued to learners who have attained the highest cumulative total standard marks in a country (in this case Vietnam)  over a  set number of subjects either at IGCSE (8 Subjects), AS Level( 4 Subjects) or A Level (3 Subjects). Cambridge has introduced these awards to recognise sustained academic achievement over a range of subjects. BIS Hanoi CIE ‘Outstanding Learner’ and best in Vietnam was:

Ha Quoc Huy: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at AS level
