Ms Sue Hill Weekly Update 19.2.2016

Dear Parents,

Next week, we will be opening a new class in the Early Years Centre. Lydia Smith, a fully qualified Australian teacher, will be joining our experienced Foundation Stage and Year 1 team so that we can further enhance our provision. I hope you will join with me in extending a very warm BIS Hanoi welcome to Lydia who has just moved to Hanoi from Glasgow, where she was teaching the British curriculum.

Super Heroes visit BIS!

We were very lucky to have some special guests in our assemblies today. Spiderman, Batman, Batman’s trainee and Wolverine helped us to try out some of our questions as our target for the rest of this term is to improve our skills of enquiry. After asking some wonderful questions about their special powers, how they travelled to the BIS and where they come from, the super heroes left us to continue with their adventures.

Ms. Hughes in the EYC, and Mr. Wild in the KS2 assembly, then explained about our exciting

new competition to design a brand new superhero

. Children throughout the primary school are invited to enter. The superhero must have super powers linked to our Aide Memoire therefore we will be choosing winners for superheroes who are exceptional role models for Caring, Integrity, Respect, Reflection, Enquiry and Perseverance. I am looking forward to looking at the entries which should be in by the deadline of March 4th.
