Just occasionally I forget that I have one of the best jobs in the World. When I get caught up in orders, budgets and other more mundane things I make sure I walk around the school to see the great activities going on. On Wednesday I was doing this and visited the Year 9 inter-house Science competition. This week is UK Science week and the students were working as teams to use chemical experiments to help Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a brilliant morning and fired up all the students’ imagination and enthusiasm for Science.
Science week continued today with an amazing assembly complete with Science teachers and others dressing up as famous Scientists.
Last weekend was very busy with 9 staff and about 60 students in for a rehearsal for the upcoming West Side Story. Ms Woolgar and her team reported that great progress was made during the long day and they are really looking forward to the performances at the end of the month. We also had a community visit to SOS Children Village on the Saturday led my Ms Cust-Hughes and a badminton tournament.
We held our first Open Morning of the year this week. As above, this was a great rejuvenator as I got really excited telling our prospective parents about what a great school we have.
