Mr Christopher Short Weekly Update 20.05

May is traditionally Examination month in a British International School and BIS Hanoi is no exception.

  • British International School Hanoi Secondary student

As I have mentioned before Year 11, 12 and 13 sit their examinations in strict conditions stipulated by Cambridge International Examinations. However, we are a large school with children from age 2 to 18 so Mr Witton works with other sections of the school to make sure the rest of the school can use the auditorium when it is not needed for examinations. The Secondary section are really grateful for the support of our Primary and EYFS colleagues in keeping the main building as quiet as possible and I know they are appreciative that we try to be as flexible as possible.

In some ways this is a metaphor for how we must act on a wider scale. The World has finite resources and all communities must work together to use these as efficiently and in as sustainable way as possible for the benefit of everybody. The skill of looking at things from all perspectives in a really important one and is central to the lifelong skills we install in students to ensure that, along with exceptional examination results, our students are fully prepared to flourish in the World of work.

Mr Christopher Short, Head of Secondary
